Melaleuca Network Marketing: How To Cope With Sales Slumps
What are sales slumps and what can you do about it?
First of all, how do you know you’re having a sales slumps. The only way you can really tell is if you’re performing ongoing tracking in your Melaleuca network marketing business. Needless to say, you should always be doing tracking in your business.
There are many facets of your business that you can track and I strongly suggest you track two primary activities.
Marketing and sales.
The marketing is what you’ve put in place that helps bring you qualified Melaleuca prospects. You should have systems and tools in place to constantly track this aspect of your business.
If you’re primarily doing offline marketing its best if you can get that offline marketing to integrate with your online efforts. For example, its best if that offline piece such as a newspaper ad or postcard mailer has them being directed to go back online. Reason being is that if you get the right tools in place it helps to leverage your time. Something that we all need more.
Your online marketing should always be measurable as well with tools such as Google Analytics or Adtrackz. In this way you know what is doing what. Otherwise your efforts are a complete waste of time, especially if you are implementing a multipronged approach, which I strongly recommend.
Now about your sales tracking. This would be when you actually get on the phone to follow up with your marketing efforts. Never rely totally on a marketing system to do all the work for you. I assure you people want to have someone to talk to get their questions answered. Be prepared when following up with your prospects. You should have a well thought out email campaign set up so that you can continue to drip information on your prospect.
Now that you have all your tracking mechanisms and systems in place you need to be assessing them. What’s interesting is inevitably the longer you track things, the more apparent your sales cycles will be.
You’ll see differences in the pattern of your online marketing compared to your offline marketing. That’s because the behavior patterns for people who shop around online are different than the behaviors you will see from your offline marketing.
You’ll start to see seasonal fluctuations as well. If your years into tracking the more patterns you can see arise. What’s awesome about tracking your marketing and sales you can begin to make accommodations in your business based on these slumps.
For example, I’ve seen summer to be a distinct slow down for bringing in new business builders. But come Fall it starts kicking in again. Especially in October.
Why is that? Not sure. I’m guessing it’s because the kids are out of school and now stay at home mom is now busier with the kids and doesn’t have as much time to devote to her business.
Either case it doesn’t matter. But if you know the peaks and valleys for your Melaleuca business, then you know during your sales slumps you can take the time to ratchet up areas of your business you know you need to improve on. Things are constantly changing so it’s always good to set aside time to get neglected areas of your business cleaned up and better optimized.
