Melaleuca Truth: Not Everyone Is Interested In Your Business!
I just wanted to share my thoughts on a chapter I recently read in Ann Sieg’s new report, “The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.” I really think you’ll relate to it…especially if you’re struggling to recruit prospects into your Melaleuca business.
If you’re currently working with Melaleuca I bet you’ve heard this horrendous untruth at one of your weekly meetings. It goes something like this, “Everyone is your prospect!”
This little fable has some Melaleuca distributors approaching everything that moves within a three-foot radius about their awesome business opportunity. It doesn’t matter if it’s the UPS man, the Walgreens manager that you frequently have small talk with, or your neighbor across the street, they all want to be introduced to the Melaleuca business opportunity.
Listen to this hogwash! I simply cannot believe that they are passing this on as “the path” to Melaleuca success!
The truth is, in network marketing, (Melaleuca included) everyone isn’t your prospect!
And I know this runs contrary to what you’re being taught, but it’s 100% true.
It might be that your neighbor likes his job and doesn’t want to become an independent business owner. Or maybe the Walgreens manager is scared of taking any type of risk. Whatever the reason, not everyone has what it takes to run their own business!
You shouldn’t spend your time and energy trying to convince anyone to become involved with your business. Because no one is worth your time, (even if they’re the perfect Melaleuca lead) until they’ve shown an interest in what you’re offering.
When I say, “shown an interest,” I mean them approaching you, not the other way around.
Who finds who first is absolutely critical. When your prospect finds you and is actively seeking you out for a solution to their problem, you’re viewed as the expert. Positioning yourself this way is definitely one of the keys to successful recruiting.
It just doesn’t make any sense to hunt down and force-feed prospects who don’t care about what you’re offering! There are millions of people in the world that want to start their own business, and the people you should be spending your time with are the ones who go out of their way looking for a way to do this.
So if the idea of talking with your friends, family, and neighbors, without bringing up the Melaleuca business opportunity appeals to you, check out Ann’s free e-book entitled, “The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.” It will change the way you sell Melaleuca products, and recruit Melaleuca prospects…for the better!
